Asso Prof. Dr. Suman Poudel
Pathology
Dr. Suman Poudel is a Nepali citizen and an accomplished pathologist currently serving as Consultant Pathologist at Mediplus Hospital & Trauma Center, Pokhara. He completed his MD in Pathology from Universal College of Medical Sciences, Tribhuvan University (2015) with a thesis on cytopathological evaluation of thyroid lesions, and his MBBS from Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences (2008). He completed a one-year rotational internship at Kathmandu University Teaching Hospital and began his career as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Gandaki Medical College (2009–2012). He later served as Lecturer (2015–2021) and Associate Professor (2021–present) in the Department of Pathology at Gandaki Medical College.
Dr. Poudel is also the Incharge of Life Care Diagnostics & Research Centre and the Blood Bank at GMC, and has been a member of the Institutional Review Committee since 2025. He has received specialized training in cytology, family planning, and surgical pathology, and has published multiple research articles in peer-reviewed journals. He actively contributes to curriculum development for MBBS, BDS, and BMIT programs and participates in national and international pathology workshops.
He is a member of the Nepal Medical Association, Nepal Medical Council, Association of Clinical Pathologists of Nepal, and the International Academy of Cytology, with academic interests in oncopathology. Dr. Poudel also engages in community health programs, blood donation drives, and free health camps. Outside of medicine, he enjoys football and cricket.
