Dr. Achyut Acharya

Dr. Achyut Acharya, NMC No. 14175, is a passionate Psychiatrist known for his empathetic listening, patient-centered care, and holistic approach that integrates mindfulness with modern therapies. He currently serves as a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Mediplus Hospital & Trauma Center, Pokhara, and as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health at Gandaki Medical College. Dr. Acharya completed his MBBS from Janaki Medical College and pursued his MD in Psychiatry (2021–2024) at Gandaki Medical College, Pokhara. His professional journey includes roles as Medical Officer at Salyan District Hospital (2014–2016) and Vinayak Hospital & Maternity Home, Kathmandu (2016–2020), where he gained extensive experience in general practice, anesthesia, obstetric care, and epidemic management, including swine flu and measles outbreaks.

Alongside his clinical expertise, Dr. Acharya is actively involved in mental health advocacy, literacy, and awareness. He has visited schools, campuses, and public forums to dispel myths about mental illness and promote psychological well-being. He emphasizes collaborative treatment, openly discussing medications with patients and their families to build mutual trust and understanding. His dedication to teaching psychiatry to undergraduate and postgraduate students further reflects his commitment to advancing mental health education in Nepal.
